I know my blog is sort of short on content lately unless you are engrossed in the Adoption Journal Postings. Things here are just so busy right now.

Yesterday we spent the day with two families we know from my online adoption group. I always love getting together with my fellow international adoptive moms because there is always a click. Just many shared experiences and our kids are the same ages so it’s always great fun. We had a blast.

I am spending many hours coordinating hurricane repairs. And it’s a challenge since many of the companies still don’t have power or materials or even phone service. So much of my day is being spent doing that. Not much fun. And I’m slightly sleep deprived since I’ve had to wake up the past few mornings at 5am to start working on “east coast time”. I am not a morning person. ‘Nuff Said.

Even in the midst of dealing with all the hurricane crises I need to sit down and really think about what I have to do to get ready for our big trip to Disney World in a couple of weeks. I can’t WAIT for my vacation. I need my vacation. I hope it feels like a vacation.

I also have two kids that still need to go school shopping. Everyone has had their dental appointments and everyone needs to go in for haircuts. Again I need to slow down long enough to make a freaking list of to do items for school. I feel like I am forgetting something.

And then there is the PTA stuff. Our board meeting is fast approaching and I have done zilch all summer to prepare for my post. Nada. I need to get on the stick there too.

Oh and we still haven’t heard from John’s interviews. Guess it isn’t looking too good. Maybe he’ll get up the courage to give them a call today and see what is up. I’m not pushing it because I don’t believe calling is going to make much difference one way or the other. And actually, living under the illusion there is employment hope is nicer then when there is nothing.

I’ll try to post some more adoption journal tidbits later today.
