Interesting update on the comfort rubbing. Apparently it was all pretty innocent. What is really getting my feather’s ruffled though is that the recess teacher (who is new or a sub) didn’t believe my girls when they told her they were sisters. Why? Because they don’t look alike. Even though both girls confirmed they were related and Emma even explained that Dinara is adopted.

Now… I know that recess teachers are looking out for the welfare of the kids and maybe they need to assume the worst? But when both the “accused” and the “victim” say they were just goofing around and that they are related… shouldn’t said recess teacher cool their jets a bit?

Emma was really upset. Her response to me was “Why didn’t just ask me to stop? I would have.” Yes. Why not indeed.

It’s sad when you have to explain to an innocent 7 year old that people in the world always assume the worst.
