Ten Things I’m Good At
Ok I’m too busy this weekend to blog so I am yet again stealing from Marcia and listing ten things I’m good at:
1. Figuring out people’s weaknesses and bringing them to their knees when I am pissed off. Not pretty, but true.
2. Investing – my love of money shines through.
3. Staying focused and achieving all my […]

Yummy New Cereal!
Ok… don’t hate me for sharing this… but this Kellogg’s Mini-Swirlz Cinnamon Bun cereal is pretty good! And you can feel good about it being whole grain to counter act the sugar guilt! It’s really yummy.
Finally a cinnamon cereal that really tastes like a cinnamon roll. […]

Noah Bragging
My son Noah will be 5 in July. Sometimes I forget he’s just four. I was unable to go to his preschool conference when I had the flu so they wrote up his progress report for me. So, I’m going to share it and brag for a […]

Too Many Connections?
I wonder if this might be admitting too much truth on my blog… but sometimes I am overwhelmed by the number of people in my life who need touched in some way by me. I am really trying to explore my feelings about how I feel overwhelmed by all the little touches. […]

My My My
For those of you who buy MP3’s. I highly recommend this song from Rob Thomas’s new album Something to Be. The name of the song is My, My, My and I’ve included the lyrics. It’s a bluesy ballad and very memorable. The whole album is great. […]

Life’s Landmines
Blogging has kind of taken a backseat to real life lately. I have family stuff going on that is taking much of my nurturing and manipulation resources. And it’s emotionally exhausting. Why people can’t see long-term into the future and make choices that are going to make their […]

Friday Feast Meme
Yummy
Appetizer
Name a store or restaurant you no longer visit because of a bad experience you had there.
Nothing comes to mind right now… the ones I can think of are out of business. Says something about my power doesn’t it? Heh.

If you could own any building in existence, which one would you want?
Hmmm. […]

Today’s Stuff
I hate when white puffy stuff is floating in the air. I always get post nasal drip this time of year and it makes me miserable. How come we can put artificial hearts in people but there is no way to completely stop post nasal drip?
Today I […]

This and That
Great Picture of the Day: Today after school we picked up some Slurpees and headed to the park to spend time with friends. Here’s a great picture my friend snapped of Dinara and me.
Weekend Proclamation: This weekend I have no plans. I am not obligated to anything or anyone. […]

Thoughts for the day
Breathe deep. Prioritize. Find a moment to savor. Call a friend. Organize something. Be present in the moment. Express gratitude. Love deeply. Plan a date. Convey compassion. Meditate.

Where I want to go…
On my parenting group they are talking about trips. Where do you want to go? Here’s my list. Please tell me…where do you want to go?
Africa. Need to go there. My draw to Africa is very hard to articulate but the desire is profound. […]

Hostage
Today Dinara held her sister’s Tamagotchi hostage. She told her if she didn’t do what she wanted she would hit the reset button. It was quite dramatic. And she carried it through too.
There’s a whole back story to this. Dinara is saving her money for […]

In my head
This is very honest, but not very well written. More for the therapy versus writing for the audience.
• I miss the anonymity of blogging.
• I wish I could figure out why I am sad.
• I feel overwhelmed by all the things I have to do.
• I view each time I have to deal with a person even in […]

Everything being Equal isn’t Working
Emotional growth sucks. The process of it. The slow agony of it. The way you must examine each clue, each action and reaction, looking into the nooks and crannies to make sense of the great puzzle. Don’t like it. I’m more a big picture person. The energy […]

Episode III
Emma was up a lot last night puking. Poor kiddo. This spring has been our “spring” to get sick. After going through most of the winter with nary more then the normal cold bugs, seems we have been hit a lot with nasty viruses lately. Or […]

Deja Vue?
About 48 hours ago Emma started throwing up. I really thought it was a virus because she had spent the night at a friend’s house and was over tired, it came on very suddenly, and the little boy down the street had just gotten over the stomach flu. But as the day […]

Emma isn’t puking anymore, but is unable to go to school do to abdominal pain.

Detoxing
It was sunny today. I was in a great mood. I went and got my blood work done like a good compliant patient. And 14 vials of blood later I decided that today would be a great day to try to detox from sugar. This was a fine […]

The day I forgot to post
For the record, I ate a whole jar of salsa last night and did NOT eat any sugar. YAY ME! We’ll see how long it lasts.
Today I went and got the cutest little sandals at PayLess Shoe Source. They are leather slides, with a chrome buckle, white flats and they were […]

Hot Hot Hot
Noah had us all up at 6:30 this morning. Apparently he saw a spider in the bathroom that warranted that we all get up and look at it. Or at least, his sister needed to come kill it for him. And then when they ran away after killing […]

Tomatis Method and CAPD
The other day Dinara was reading a book to me. This and of itself is nothing short of amazing. She has had tremendous problems with phenome blending and remembering her sounds. She was doing pretty well. I’ve written about the difficulties Dinara faces in previous posts. At least she […]

Good Thing; Bad Thing
Good thing: Friend introduced me to a Costco closer to me, less crowded and easier to get to.
Bad thing: I’ll probably be going to Costco more often.
Good thing: Dinara memorized her phone number.
Bad thing: Dinara’s friends now know her phone number.
Good thing: Got my blood results back […]
