Hurricane Thoughts
My idea for helping the hurricane victims is that the government offer folks a $250 per person per month tax credit for each person they take into their home and provide room and board. Government picks up the cost of relocation via paying for airfare which would help the airlines too. […]

Hurricane Thoughts part III
There is no part II btw. I wrote a post in response to Rachel’s comment below, but have decided to not publish it. It’s simply not the time for me to be spewing my thoughts on personal responsibility. As Matt Lauer said… use your energy to inspire […]

Gah. My kids.
My neighbor just called to alert me to the fact that my two youngest were teamed with her son taking lunch treats (chips & candy) out of her garage. We do that too, keep our “Costco stash” in our garage for storage and my kids have been told before they are not allowed […]

Teaching Giving Back
Below is my letter to my PTSA board about creating an opportunity to teach our kids about “Giving Back”. Just thought I’d share it.
Hello!!!
One of the things I try to teach my kids, is that there is often the greatest opportunities in the worst of conflicts. […]

TV News Detox
Watching all the Katrina coverage has to end for me. I can no longer stomach watching the suffering and coping with the feelings of inadequacy that come with doing nothing. I’m not talking about writing checks, I’ve done that… but I need to be involved in a bigger way. […]

Just here
I need to remove the dates from my posts so that when I am a blogging slacker the evidence isn’t staring you in the face. It’s hard for the over achiever type A in me to know I’m not hitting my daily posting bar. But I’m learning to live with […]

Why Join the PTSA?
I have to speak on Thursday at the General Meeting in front of parents. I’m decent at public speaking but I always get nervous. And I worry about it before hand. A lot. So lucky you… you get to hear all the little noises going on in […]

Shopping soothes the soul…
So today I took Emma to Libby Lu for a birthday party. While she partied hard as a girlie-girl, mommy went shopping.
I bought a Double Play/Double Header Coat at Chicos and love it! I would link to it but I can’t find it on their website so it must not be […]

Happy Birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet seven year old. She’s so excited that it’s her birthday. She opened one gift this morning and is patiently awaiting the arrival of her father so she can open the rest. Truthfully, I think daddy is just as excited as she is. […]

Flu Pandemic in the Making?
Ok at the risk of being mocked and considered a complete nut I am going to admit that I bought Tamiflu online. Turns out there is some evidence it’s starting to be transmitted human to human, it’s just not an efficient virus yet. But by the time we “realize” […]

Not so accomplished
I have so many little to do items that I can’t get to any of my big to do items. It’s irritating. I don’t feel like I’m accomplishing anything.
This morning I started a yummy stew in the crock pot for dinner. I’m heading out to the school to work […]

Still overeating after all these years
Have you noticed I’ve not been blogging about deep topics lately? I’m in a fluffy mood I guess. It’s almost like I don’t have the energy to even think. I am happy though. And I guess blogging is easier when you are unhappy. […]

Sucky Day
Yesterday sucked.
Started with the vet who spent a total of 5 minutes with us. Looked in my dogs ears and then said “nope that’s it” and took my $50. She took my dog to the back to do it and the Vet Tech brought Sanibel […]
