Well.. sister and parents are ok. Both have property damage. Roof Tile hit a car at my sisters. Parents lost facia and roof tiles. They are going to go check on my place when the roads are clear.
Not sure what to do with all this resentment and anger I have towards my parents and their stupid decisions. My mom told me that she is now realizing just how much my dad’s disease has progressed and she’s realizing eventually he’s going to need long-term care. She told me that because she said “she was willing to leave but Dad wasn’t and she couldn’t leave him alone”.
Uh huh. That’s why she’s still at their house NOW running her fridge on the generator to keep her IV meds cool instead of going to my sisters where there is electricity.

I’m glad they are okay but I’d be fighting the urget to go wring their necks.

My husband had this problem with his mom. She was a recluse with a lot of big plans to go to school, get a job, take care of her health, etc., etc. She ended up dying at 55 from complications of diabetes, because she was not able to do the things she needed to to take care of herself. We came to the realization that whatever she did or didn’t do was not a personal slight to us, people are weird and they have their own reasons for doing things, sometimes even they are not able to articulate the whys. I ended up having to view my MIL as an “ill” person doing the best she could. I garnered a lot more patience with her looking at it from that point of view.
