Aloah! I’m in Maui. And I’m on island time!

I feel so relaxed. I sit here in my room, sipping a cool drink, listening to the surf pound outside my balcony with the sky turning black and glow of tiki torches lighting up the courtyard. It’s pure magic.

Today we went snorkeling. It was beautiful. Saw a sea turtle. Good thing we also rented wet suit tops because the water is only 78 degrees. This is way colder then what we are used to in the Atlantic. The snorkeling was wonderful though. We did about an hour of it and then we were tired. The currents are really strong here and we both almost felt a little sea sick when we were finished. The waves on shore were so strong, I got knocked over and lost a fin. Im sure I’ll get charged a bazillion bucks for that.

We spent the afternoon exploring the pools here at the Grand Wailea. Very cool. There is a water elevator to take you the top of where the slides are so you don’t have to walk. My kids would LOVE this. It’s hard being here without the kids, cause every where we turn, we are like “oh…the kids would love that!”

The food is amazing. We had the most amazing fish and steak last night. How do I describe it? Butter sauce. Everything. Yum! The steak had this balsamic butter sauce that was just amazing. And the fish was so light… And for dessert? Warm chocolate soufflé! How can you go wrong with that? Hubby had some sushi this afternoon for lunch that was also wonderful. Even I liked it. And on the buffet this morning they had this little Hawaiian fruit called Lichee and it was so delicious.

Ok so enough about the food…. It was amazing though. Each meal was an adventure… I just love trying new things!

Tomorrow we are taking a scuba class and then they are taking us out on a 20 foot dive. If we were going to be here a few more days, I would go ahead and get certified to scuba dive. Next trip.

Ok… time to get ready for dinner. Mahalo!
