Day in the Life
Posted by Kym under General
I love the holidays, but they are so busy! Let me just give you a snapshot of my day today.
Woke up at 6am. Worked on my school’s newsletter till about 7:15 then got myself and the kids ready and out the door to school. Came home, straightened the bottom floor of the house. Went back upstairs and realized I had lost much of the work I did in the early morning due to a computer crash. Cursed self for not saving regularly. Scrambled to catch up. Realized there was some sort of flattening error when compressing the file into a PDF and then had to figure out why that was happening. Which required me to save individually each page of an 11 page newsletter. Family called several times in between to tell me how my dad’s surgery went. (He did fine, needed two units of blood and is now awake – but is confused. Dad has dementia so this is to be expected.) Then went to lunch with a friend. I was really too busy to go, but since it was planned from two weeks ago, I figured I had to go. Then went to Target to do the shopping for two families we are helping out during the holidays as all their gifts needed to be turned in by tomorrow. Got my pictures printed for our Christmas Cards. Dropped friend off and then rushed to school to pick up kids since the woman we carpool with is home with her sick kids today. Then came home and helped my two youngest with their homework. Then back to school to pick up Emma from Girl Scouts and drop off some shoes that we accidentally picked up at a friend’s house during a play date. Then home to make a Chicken Parmesan dinner. Then after dinner, John said he was getting sick… so I ran to the drugstore to pick him up some Airborne and Zicam. Then went to Trader Joes for some ‘stuff’ to hold me over. Home at 8pm, cleaned kitchen, caught up on emails and here I am.
Anyway…that’s an example of why I’m not blogging very much. Exciting life I live eh?

I’m thinking they need to change the lyrics of “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” to the “most stressful time of the year.”
I’m glad your dad came out of surgery alright.

I can’t decide whether to be in complete awe of you, hate you for being able to accomplish so much, or a mixture of the two. I’m so glad to hear that your dad came through surgery so well.

Hi there! Ignore this if you’re not interested, but I’m just skipping through BlogExplosion looking for other mommys.
Me and a friend have set up a MSN group for parents to get together and meet others who share things in common with themselves. It’s been a bit slow to get off the ground, so I’m looking for new members to join up.
The site is http://groups.msn.com/BoredMomsHideaway .
Take a look- if you’re interested please sign up, or pass on the information to anyone else you may know who is interested.
Thanks!!
