Waiting on the World to Change…
Posted by Kym under General
Maybe you will get more blog posts from me now that TV is nothing but reruns? That was rhetorical.
Today I spent the day with my sick daughter. My eldest has a bad cold or the flu. I’ve dosed her up on third world antibotics, steroid inhalers, Albuterol and motrin. She finally seemed like she was coming out of it tonight. She really wants to go to school tomorrow. She’s wanted to go to school for the past two days, but I’ve talked her into staying home. Can you imagine a child who wants to go to school *this* badly?
Went and volunteered at my son’s Polar Express Party. This is where they take graham crackers and slather them with frosting and lots of candy and call it a train. It’s fun, but watching all those kids lick plastic knives (their own thank God!) full of frosting was a bit numbing. I’m becoming a bit too OCD or germophobe to handle it I guess.
Then, in consideration for the wussies that our school system is known to be, they canceled all afternoon classes and daycare because of an impending windstorm. The lights have flickered a bit, but we are talking Category One hurricane winds here. No big deal. Anyway… they’ll probably end up canceling school tomorrow. Which wouldn’t be so bad because I’m supposed to work in Dinara’s classroom at 8:30 in the morning to do some fun Christmas Crafts. Then I have an appointment for a haircut and that would probably get canceled… and that wouldn’t be so great either. And if I can’t travel to Bellevue, then my cleaning lady probably can’t travel here and that would be REALLY tragic. Damn weather. Bah Humbug.
Mom and Dad are coming on Monday and I have so much to do. Emma being sick has put a crimp in my ability to get all my errands done. Which means many of the errands are going to have to get done this weekend.
Anyway… just thought I’d post before we lose electricity. I thought for sure we’d lose power in the middle of this post.
