Looks like I am going to be heading to Chicago to get a puppy the beginning of February. We are very excited. We need to come up with a name that starts with a “D” and is a place for a male. We are right now leaning towards Denali. That sounds like a great name doesn’t it? Anyone else have any great “D” place boy names? Dakota was the dad so that one is out.

I ran 5K today. I will admit that my half hearted running the past month finally caught up with me. I walked several times during today’s run. It was frustrating. My time came in about the same as usual though, so I guess that is good. And I am not too sore, so I am assuming that most of the “fitness” I lost over the past month has more to do with mental fitness then physical fitness. I just need to get back in the groove of pushing myself to do what I want to do.

I took Emma back to the doctor. Her right lung is still congested so we are doing another round of Zithromax. I am really frustrated with the first doctor not treating her pneumonia a little more aggressively. I mean she had already been on Amoxicillin for a week. Then he put her on Zithromax which isn’t even indicated for Pneumonia. Gah. Frustrating. And the only reason I didn’t say anything is because I was feeling chastised about not admitting where I got the Amoxicillin from. I didn’t want to have to explain to the good doctor how I think it’s ridiculous you can walk into a pharmacy in Brazil and pick up a month’s supply of Cipro but here in the US, we are all considered too stupid to handle it. So we are held hostage and continue to pay out the nose for medical care. Think how much money we would save if your pharmacist could give you Amoxicillin or ear drops for your kid instead of having to go to the doctor. And don’t even give me the whole resistance speech. Everyone knows we are getting more antibiotics in our meat and dairy then we ever would take in a year anyway… If they are really worried about that, then they need to be better regulating our food supply.

Hmmm…how did I get going on that rant?

We had a great visit with Mom and Dad. I have to admit though, I was glad to see them go. I just like the pace and space in my life. It’s hard to live in a house with seven people. The holiday was wonderful and it was what I hoped for…. But I am glad to have my house back.

Did I post about the Wii before? My God I love that thing. I am not a video game person but we have had so much fun with it as a family. Nintendo really out did themselves. It really is worth the $250. My favorite games are Trauma Center and Elebits.

Im tired… nite nite.
